Here's a little bit of content to take you into what is sure to be an eventful weekend.
Happy holidays!
My Friday-4:
Four pieces of content I've consumed this past week that will influence my future social media content and challenge me to think differently about how I manage Cressey Sports Performance. As always, I'm
looking to bring you some business-specific information from outside of the world of fitness.
- Here's How to Attract and Retain Employees in the New Age of Work - I love
that the author (or editor) of this piece took a direct shot at the stupidty of the statement "no one wants to work anymore," as it is nothing but an excuse that shitty business owners and managers of people lean on to explain their constant inability to retain talent. There are some good foundational rules in here for holding onto (and drawing in) great talent.
- The Employee Retention Credit Is a Great Deal--but Beware "ERC Mills" - We are fortunate to have an accountant who happily processed our employee retention tax credit here at CSP, but that is apparently not the case for all based on this
article. My feed and inbox have been filled with these "ERC Mills" pedalling their services as of late, so it seems that this one is worth a read for those of you who are kicking around the idea of investing in this service.
- The 30 Best Ads of 2022 - This collection of curated ads from the past 12 months is fantastic because it exposes us to a variety of creative approaches to branding and explains what makes every single one unique and valuable. Great stuff from AdWeek.
- A Simple Way to Introduce
Yourself - I second-guess my approach to introducing myself every time I step infront of a room to deliver a lecture. Should I tell them why I am worthy of being there? Should I explain my background in detail? Should I just tell them what I'm covering and leave it at that? This HBR article delivered a simple three-step approach that sufficiently covers your bases in a succinct
manner.
Make sure to let me know if you come across any material that you think I'd enjoy. More importantly, have a great weekend.
