Happy New Year to you!
This week I want to share four great podcast episodes that I was fortunate enough to stumble upon in 2022. I
found all four of these episodes on Apple Podcasts, but have also shared hyperlinks for websites where they are hosted in this particular newsletter.
Hopefully you enjoy the information shared and find a new podcast or two to add to your list of bookmarked shows moving forward.
My Friday-4:
Four pieces of content I've consumed this past week that will influence my future social media content and challenge me to think differently about how I manage Cressey Sports Performance. As always, I'm looking to bring you some business-specific information from outside of the world of
fitness.
- Skeletons in The CrossFit Closet - This was an especially fascinating interview that went deep down the CrossFit cost structure rabbit hole. While I have no interest in bashing CrossFit or any other fitness provider, I wouldn't say
that this collection of insights reflected particularly well on the brand as a whole.
- Inside Million Dollar Studios - What Does a Seven-Figure Studio Really Look Like? - It's easy to fall into a routine of listening to the same handful of "business" podcasts again and again, so I find it refreshing when I discover a quality podcast from inside of our own industry that I previously didn't know existed. The Ready. Aim. Empire. podcast fits this description, and I'd suggest you start with this episode in particular.
- Wisdom From the Top - General David Petraeus - Leadership insights shared by current and former members of the military community tend to resonate with me, including this interview of one of the most accomplished generals of our time. If you enjoy How I Built This, Wisdom From the
Top will be a win for you because it is also hosted by the great Guy Raz.
- Sahil Bloom Left Private Equity to Make Millions as a Content Creator - One of my resolutions for the year ahead is to make a concerted effort to publicly celebrate my friends' successes instead of only internally measuring myself against them (I sadly do this). Sahil Bloom is a friend of 15+ years who I've closely watched go from high school student athlete, to accomplished Stanford graduate, to massively successful entreprenuer and influencer. I'm sharing this podcast episode because I'm proud of him for being the featured guest on a
high-profile show, and because I think it's a wonderful illustration of who Sahil is behind closed doors when he interacts with friends.
Make sure to let me know if you come across any material that you think I'd enjoy. More importantly, have a great weekend.
