Friday Four - Employee Satisfaction, The Story of CSP & More: 8/12/16

Published: Fri, 08/12/16

This week's Friday Four touches on topics including Eric Cressey's take on niche creation, the importance of treating your employees every bit as well as your customers, and more.

First things first, here's a look at some content published on my own site this week:

My Friday FOUR

Four pieces of content I've consumed this past week that will influence my future blog material and challenge me to think differently about how I manage CSP - as always, I'm looking to bring you some business-specific information from outside of the world of fitness. Enjoy:

  • Why You Should Treat Your Employees Like Your Most Loyal Customers: There's no shortage of sound reasons to treat your employees as if they were internal customers, including: improved loyalty and job satisfaction, increased productivity, and even reduced sick days. This article discusses some of the strategies you can put into action as an employer to increase employee engagement.
  • 3 Reasons Why You Can't Feel Bad Charging What You're Worth: The author of this piece makes several great points, including: "If you don't respect your worth, how can you expect anyone else to?" If that argument doesn't sway you toward believing in your cost structure, I'd imagine his points on pricing-driven perceived quality and the value of your time will.
  • The Impact Show - Ep13 - Crushing Your Niche (Podcast): Interested in hearing Eric's take on niche creation and development? How about the story of how he and I met, formed the trust necessary to become business partners, and ultimately got CSP off the ground and running? It's all here in an information-packed 40+ minutes.
  • How to Get Meaningful Insight From Job Reference Checking: Last month I published a blog discussing how frequently fitness facility owners fail to call references during the hiring process, and the pitfalls that come with this oversight. This article complements my piece nicely by highlighting exactly how to maximize the value of these calls once you finally decide to execute them.

Make sure to let me know if you come across any material that you think I'd enjoy. More importantly, have a great weekend!
