This
week's Friday Four features guidance from both online and brick & mortar fitness business leaders, some insights on re-branding an existing business, and a great guest post from Eric Cressey.
Let's start with the guest post Eric was kind enough to prepare for me:
- Having an Approach to Having an Approach: Eric has been presenting at fitness industry events for over a decade now, and he's been privy to the good, the bad, and the ugly of fitness professional interaction and networking. In this post he discusses the importance of making a positive first impression, the perks of being an extrovert, and much
more.
My Friday FOUR
Four pieces of content I've consumed this past week that will influence my future blog material and challenge me to think differently about how I manage CSP - as always, I'm looking to bring you some business-specific information from outside of the world of fitness. Enjoy:
- 5 Entrepreneurship Rules I've Learned from Starting 7 Figure Businesses: Sol Orwell will tell you that his material is specific to online entrepreneurship, but I rarely find a post from him that is
not directly applicable to how I run Cressey Sports Performance. While all five of these rules are spot-on, I'd encourage you to pay particular attention to #4 if you currently operate a fitness facility.
- The Ideal Business Show: Luka Hocevar (podcast): Pat Rigsby has lined up nothing but A+
guests for the first nine episodes of his new podcast. This edition features great insights from fellow fitness business expert, Luka Hocevar. I especially liked Luka's point that the client training experience at your gym qualifies as marketing. Don't ever let your external lead generation efforts take away from your ability to deliver an exceptional client experience.
- 9 Things Social Media Marketers Get Wrong: You can likely count on one hand the number of facilities in our piece of the fitness industry (non-commercial gyms) that carry a significant annual marketing
budget. Cressey Sports Performance is most certainly not one of them. Seeing as how we all need to bootstrap our marketing efforts a little bit, maximizing the effectiveness of our social media strategy should be close to the top of all of our to-do lists. This author doesn't waste any time diving in to useful insights, starting with this important point: "The quality of your followers matters far more than the quantity, and engagement rates and traffic are far better
measures."
Make sure to let me know if you come across any material that you think I'd enjoy. More importantly, have a great weekend!
- Pete
