- Supplementing Your Continuing Education Book Habit - Our former CSP
Intern Kim Lloyd prepared a fantastic guest post where she poses this important question to fitness professionals: Are you wasting time and energy consuming business strategy books when your time as a fitness professional could be better spent working on cultivating soft skills?
My Friday FOUR
Four pieces of content I've consumed this past week that will influence
my future blog material and challenge me to think differently about how I manage CSP - as always, I'm looking to bring you some business-specific information from outside of the world of fitness. Enjoy:
- Here's The Single Interview Question to End All Interview Questions - I came across this article on Wednesday afternoon just after completing my eighth of sixteen summer internship interviews scheduled for the week. The first eight candidates got lucky, because I
employed this question in each of the interviews to follow, and the results were enlightening. More often than not, candidates were exposed as less-than-prepared, but the ones who nailed this answer are all receiving internship job offers via email later this afternoon.
- How To Massively Boost Your Blog Traffic With These 5 Awesome Image Stats - Did you know that there is technically an optimal word-to-image ratio that will increase the likelihood that people share your blog posts? How about the fact that adding an image to a FB post will lead to 2.3
times more engagement? There are a ton of fascinating and useful tips in this piece.
- The Pact - This brief post by Seth Godin is important for those of you who are considering opening a gym or launching a personal brand. Neither of these endeavors will be cheap or quick. You're going to be sacrificing personal and family time to be successful, and the pact that Seth describes here is one that you'll need to commit to if you intend to be in business a few years down the road.
- How to Charge What You're Worth - This is a video from Ramit Sethi where he outlines three strategies for establishing trust and positioning within your marketplace. The second half of this 20-minute piece is jam-packed with good information. (Special thanks to my Friday-4 reader Josh Gibson who put this one on my radar)
Make sure to let me know if you come across any material that you
think I'd enjoy. More importantly, have a great weekend!
