Let's start this edition of my Friday-4 with the blog I've published on my site this
week: - Selling Fitness Services - How I Do It - In this post I illustrate the importance of individualizing the approach you take to every sales pitch. Check it out if you'd like to see three dramatically different angles I can take to explaining how our services would benefit a single athlete.
My Friday FOUR:
Four pieces of content I've consumed this past week that will influence my future blog material and challenge me to think differently about how I manage Cressey Sports Performance - as always, I'm looking to bring you some business-specific information from outside of the world of fitness. Enjoy: - Reclaim Your Commute - Are you a productive commuter? This Harvard Business Review article outlines a bunch of great ways to make the most of this "wasted time." My commute is 20-minutes in both directions. I typically use the ride to work to listen to either an informational podcast or business-ish audio book, and the ride home is for
either listening to fiction or sports talk radio. In a sense, I like to "lock in" my productive mentality going there, and "check out" during my return. In the end, it is really just about systemizing your approach to feel like YOU control this time instead of being controlled by variables like traffic.
- 3 Questions You Need to Ask Before Hiring Someone (video) - Considering hiring a new strength coach, admin, or even manual therapist for your gym? Do yourself a favor and set aside less than two minutes to watch this video where Tony Robins explains the three questions he asks himself before adding a new member to his team. He nails
it.
- Wendy's Will Give You a Year of Free Nuggets - This is not a business article. It's an illustration of how the person behind the Wendy's Twitter account is an evil genius. Instead of taking the safe route and playing nice,
Wendy's has decided to antagonize the competition, belittle internet haters, and put on a clinic in social media trolling. The end result...me wanting to sneak out of my office to grab some chicken nuggets right now. The takeaway here is that there is immense value in humanizing the content you're sharing on your business' social media platforms. People like brands with consistent and authentic personalities.
- FB Marketing for Fitness Pros: Your Guide to Launching FB Ads
for $1/Day - I would imagine that I am not in the minority when I say I find the Facebook advertising platform to be a little bit overwhelming. This piece did a great job of not only illustrating how you can advertise effectively for as little as $1/day, but also in making the process considerably less intimidating.
Make sure to let me know if you come across any material that you think I'd enjoy. More importantly, have a great
weekend!
- Pete
