I'm back with some recommended reading to either wrap up your
week, or kick off your Father's Day Weekend.
Let's start this week off with a blog published this week on my own site: - Everyone Raises Prices - You Should, Too - It isn't uncommon for me to encounter a gym owner who has never raised prices after multiple years of operation. This hesitance is typically tied to a mentality that clients will immediately jump ship. The title of this post pretty much sums up my attitude on the matter...
My Friday FOUR:
Four pieces of content I've consumed this past week that will influence my future blog
material and challenge me to think differently about how I manage Cressey Sports Performance - as always, I'm looking to bring you some business-specific information from outside of the world of fitness. Enjoy: - Faking Your Emotions at Work
(Podcast) - One of the challenging aspects of our profession in fitness is the unofficial rule that we can't really afford to have the occasional bad day. Regardless of what's going on outside of our gym, clients are paying good money to see our smiling faces upon their arrival. This podcast touches on tips for "getting into character," and delivering a believable performance without completely burning
out.
- Instagram is Bringing Shopping to Its Stories Feature - I have not yet tested this feature, but I also know that it is usually worth listening when I see "Your Business Should Take Advantage (Fast)" in
the article description. This one is probably worth checking out, even if you're just looking to sell a few more tee shirts with your gym logo on them.
- Trusting Your Gut is the Best Business Tool You've Got -- If You Can Listen - When it comes to sharing insights with fellow gym owners, I'm fond of saying "trust your gut." This article reinforces my approach, and makes it sound far more scientific with this description: "Intuition
is big data for your body. It’s the result of your body’s own algorithms processing millions of data points that surround you every day." Good read.
Make sure to let me know if you come across any material that you think I'd enjoy. More importantly, have a great weekend!
- Pete
