Here's some recommended reading to either wrap up your
week, or kick off your weekend.
Let's kick things off with a blog I published yesterday:
- Identify Your Next Hire Before You Need to Make It -
Finding great coaches to join your team can be exhausting and stressful if you take an entirely reactive approach to the process. Here are a few tips on how to lay the groundwork for your next hire before the time comes to do so.
My Friday FOUR:
Four pieces of content I've consumed this past week that will
influence my future blog material and challenge me to think differently about how I manage Cressey Sports Performance - as always, I'm looking to bring you some business-specific information from outside of the world of fitness. Enjoy:
- Phone Interview Coming Up? Don't Make These Mistakes - We handle roughly 98% of our internship interviews in a telephone format (including Skype and FaceTime) here at CSP. I've seen each of the twelve mistakes outlined in this article, and would say the ones that get me the most are numbers one, six and seven on this
list.
- The 3 Biggest Mistakes CEO's Make With Their Personal Brands - This one caught my eye because both Eric Cressey and I maintain personal brands alongside the CSP brand. How's this for a fascinating statistic: "A study by Weber
Shandwick and KRC Research estimated that 44 percent of a company’s market value can be directly linked to the CEO’s reputation."
- How to Retain and Engage Your B Players - When it comes to
long-term business development, your "B Players" are the people who will prove to be the bedrock of your organization. Employees who think of themselves as rising industry superstars are already mentally one-foot out the door, while your steady and dependable B players who are wildly underrated in the organization. There are some immensely valuable tips in this one to help you express appreciation to the employees who appreciate the fact that there is no "I" in team.
Make
sure to let me know if you come across any material that you think I'd enjoy. More importantly, have a great weekend!
