Here's some recommended reading to either wrap up your week, or kick off your weekend.
Let's start things off with a guest blog I published this week on my own website:
My Friday FOUR:
Four pieces of content I've consumed this past week that will influence my future blog material and challenge me to think differently about how I manage Cressey Sports Performance - as always, I'm looking to bring you some business-specific information from outside of the world of fitness. Enjoy:
- 5 Partnership Lessons From Bill Belichick and Tom Brady - This one was easy clickbait for me having been born and raised a New England Patriots fan, but it also featured five really important lessons on business partnership. A considerable chunk of the inquiries I receive from current and aspiring gym owners relate to the idea of
finding a business partner, and this article will be a good place to start as far as my feedback goes moving forward.
- These six pieces of traditional resume advice are totally wrong - This article from FastCompany was very useful, featuring six great tips, including one that completely contradicts a message I've been preaching for a long time (#1). I'd argue it, but compelling statistics
were provided to prove me wrong. Pay close attention to these suggestions if you're considering revising or updating your resume.
- 5 Instragram Strategy Tips from Bloomberg - Plenty of gym owners think strategically about their Instagram posting strategy, but rarely do they think of their Instagram Story as a place to strategically roll out content. Your story can and should be used as a way to pull back the curtain
on what's happening in your gym at a given moment, but it can also be a place to educate, drive awareness to specific content, and tell a clear story. Bloomberg appears to embrace this mentality.
Make sure to let me know if you come across any material that you think I'd enjoy. More importantly, have a great weekend!
- Pete
