Welcome to the weekend. Here's some interesting material to either wrap up your work week, or kick off your much deserved down time.
Let's get things started by revisiting one of my most popular blog posts from 2019:
My Friday FOUR:
Four pieces of content I've consumed this past week that will influence my future blog material and challenge me to think differently about how I manage Cressey Sports Performance. As always, I'm looking to bring you some business-specific information from outside of the world of fitness. Enjoy:
- A Newsletter You Should All Be Reading (if you aren't already) - I want to put as much impactful material in front of you as possible, and this time around that means sharing a link to my favorite newsletter on the internet. If you read Atomic Habits, you're already familiar with James Clear.
Well he churns out a weekly Thursday email that is exceptional. It's quick. It's actionable. It's share-worthy. If you haven't signed up already, I'd encourage you to do so at this link. Thank me later.
- 240 Words on Building a Business - If you're a regular reader of this newsletter you know that I'm a big fan of material that is quick and to the point. A great example would be the work of Seth Godin. My buddy Michael
Keeler channeled his inner Godin earlier this week and punched out this brief and impactful post that every current and aspiring business owner should read.
- Hard Culture - I'm terribly fascinated by gym culture, and am of the belief that it can't be installed. This being said, you can put certain variables in place that will allow it to develop roughly the way you would like. This podcast helped me to better define some of the
conclusions I've come to in my mind relating to real versus fake culture. Patrick Lencioni, the host of this show, refers to this concept as hard versus soft culture.
Make sure to let me know if you come across any material that you think I'd enjoy. More importantly, have a great weekend.
- Pete
