Four pieces of content I've consumed this past week that will influence my future blog material and challenge me to think differently about how I manage Cressey Sports Performance. As always, I'm looking to bring you some business-specific information from outside of the world of fitness. Enjoy:
- These 4 Skills Helped Martin Luther King Jr. Become a Transformational Leader - This article was obviously full of information relating to your development as a leader, but I found it especially
helpful from the perspective of someone who is preparing to deliver a presentation. If you're looking to grab the attention of a captive audience, look no further than the work of Dr. King for useful pointers.
- Five Secrets to Pricing Your Product - This was an information-packed quick podcast discussing the art of pricing strategy. Check this one out to learn why having three price points is optimal, how to
anchor your costs in relation to other products, and more.
- Ten Ways to Have a Better Conversation (TED Talk) - This topic is hugely important as we live in a world where even the most trivial issues are tearing down the once
positive nature of our social media newsfeeds. This TED Talk will remind you that a conversation actually requires both parties talking and listening. Have you ever put any real thought into the level of your conversational competence? No? Maybe you should.
- What to Say in an Exit Interview - I've shared a great deal of content relating to landing the right job in years past here in the Friday-4, but can't remember a time when I discussed the art of gracefully walking away from a position. This part is every bit as
important, as all but one of the jobs you take in your career will be following the conclusion of another. Don't minimize the negative impact that comes with hastily burning bridges on your way out the door.
Make sure to let me know if you come across any material that you think I'd enjoy. More importantly, have a great weekend.
