Thanks for opening up this edition of the Friday Four. Let's get things started by sharing a blog post from my own personal archives:
- 3 Tips for Transitioning Your Training Model to Semi-Private - If you've been considering shifting some or all of your personal training operation toward a semi-private model, now is the time. Clients will likely be receptive to changes in your training
model since they'll realize the importance of you increasing operational efficiencies and revenue driving options moving forward. This blog post touches on three strategies you can employ to do so successfully.
My Friday FOUR:
Four pieces of content I've consumed this past week that will influence my future blog material and challenge me to think differently about how I manage Cressey Sports Performance. As always, I'm looking to bring you some business-specific information from outside of the world of fitness. Enjoy:
- Consider A Gap Year - You may not realize it yet, but many of your high school and college-aged clients have an interesting option to consider in taking a step away from their academic endeavors during the approaching 2020-21 school year. I can't blame them, as I wouldn't be all
that excited about paying tuition and spending an additional 25% of my collegiate experience on the chance to execute a curriculum on my laptop in my parents' basement. So how is this going to effect their gym use habits? I'm not entirely sure, but it's certainly worth considering as decisions of this nature can impact your business.
- How to Add a Covid Surcharge Without Alienating Customers - Are you considering raising prices at your gym as you return from a couple of months away? Be careful about exactly how you position the move if you decide to do so.
Some will understand, while others will be frustrated. This article shares some tips that will help you to modify pricing (either permanently or temporarily) without creating a firestorm of customer complaints.
- Six Experts Reveal the Post-COVID Truth About the Advertising Business - It has been fascinating to watch advertising specialists adjust their approach during the pandemic quarantine period, and it will once again
be fascinating to see how they handle the months coming out of it. There were many interesting insights in this piece, including this one: "Brands will be re-proving themselves, re-introducing themselves, restating why they should be a preference."
- House Passes PPP Loan Forgiveness Bill—What You Need To Know - I don't know about your business, but mine would benefit dramatically from shifting forgivable PPP dollars
applicable toward rent from 25% to as much as 40%. There is a wave of change potentially coming to the rules surrounding your loan, and this article was pretty informative on the topic.
Make sure to let me know if you come across any material that you think I'd enjoy. More importantly, have a great weekend.
- Pete
