Thanks for opening up this edition of the Friday Four. Let's get things started by sharing the first blog post I ever wrote, which was actually a guest post for Eric's website:
My Friday FOUR:
Four pieces of content I've consumed this past week that will influence my future blog material and challenge me to think differently about how I manage Cressey Sports Performance. As always, I'm looking to bring you some business-specific information from outside of the world of fitness. Enjoy:
- The Lessons I Learned From My Dad About Running a Business - I loved this post about lessons learned growing up in the home of a small business owner. My business partner Eric and I always made a it a point to favor candidates with family
business backgrounds when hand-picking interns during our early years of business, and that was driven by many of the lessons shared here.
- When Starting a Business, Lean Into Criticism - I'm as guilty as anyone when it comes to collecting positive feedback from people within my network who have conditioned me to expect them to hit the "like"
button regardless of the material I share. This habit doesn't really help anyone, especially me. This article was a nice reminder that I need to seek out the people who choose to engage with critical feedback and factor it into my plan moving forward.
- Reentry to The Workplace Should Resemble Starting Kindergarten - Yes, this article speaks to returning employees to the workplace, but I challenge you to read it while intentionally replacing the word "employee" with "client" throughout the
text. Every single piece of advice would help you to improve the return experience for the people who pay your bills.
- My Webinar Checklist (10 Non-Sucky Zoom Tips) - We're toying with the idea of taking our annual CSP Massachusetts Fall Seminar entirely online, so this podcast episode resonated with me. Whether you're planning a
large event of that nature, or something as simple as a weekly in-house zoom call for clients and staff, there are some great tips in this quick ten-minute podcast episode.
Make sure to let me know if you come across any material that you think I'd enjoy. More importantly, have a great weekend.
- Pete
