Four pieces of content I've consumed this past week that will influence my future blog material and challenge me to think differently about how I manage Cressey Sports Performance. As always, I'm looking to bring you some business-specific information from outside of the world of fitness. Enjoy:
- How the Sales Process Has Drastically Evolved to Fit the Future - The primary takeaway of this article is that buyers now arrive to the sales pitch having done extensive research on the solutions at their fingertips. Gone are the days of painting a picture of why you're better
than the competition, and now we have an objective of delivering informational content on social media in a way that informs the consumer at the moment that they're researching solutions. If you're not positioning yourself as a thought leader of sorts, you're not going to find yourself fielding tons of inbound leads.
- Efficient or productive? - Yet again, Seth Godin has spoken to me with a brief and impactful post. The big takeaway in this one is that you can't always make important work quick or efficient. Sometimes things that need to get done are laborious in nature, but that
doesn't make them a less important use of my time than the things on my to-do list that are efficiently completed.
- Becoming a More Patient Leader - This article reminded me of the importance of managing a balance between task-oriented and relationship-oriented leadership. Read this if you're interested in acquiring tools and reminders that will make you a more effective manager of
people in 2020. I should also mention that this one resonated with me as a parent who is struggling to get on the same page as four and six year old boys!
Make sure to let me know if you come across any material that you think I'd enjoy. More importantly, have a great weekend.
