Thanks for opening up this edition of the Friday Four. Let's get things started by sharing a podcast I was interviewed on recently:
- Defining Your Niche (podcast) - My buddies Matt and Zach were kind enough to invite me on their podcast and the finished product was a
great conversation covering everything from the CSP origin story to the factors that contributed to us earning our niched "baseball gym" status.
My Friday FOUR:
Four pieces of content I've consumed this past week that will influence my future blog material and challenge me to think differently about how I manage Cressey Sports Performance. As always, I'm looking to bring you some business-specific information from outside of the world of fitness. Enjoy:
- How to Win Friends and Meet Influential People - There will never be a moment in your professional life when the art of
quality networking ceases to be important. With this in mind, have a listen to this 19-minute podcast that is effectively a masterclass in the process of delivering unexpected value to the people that you aspire to add to your professional circle.
- Google and Facebook Look to July 2021 for an Office Return. Can You Do the Same? - I've got two compelling reasons why an article of this nature is worthy of your attention. First, assuming you work with general fitness clients, the
question of when to transition from work-from-home to an office setting is an anxiety-inducing exercise that is on their minds. It wouldn't be a bad idea to equip yourself to have conversations about the topic. Secondly, like it or not, there is going to be a stigma attached to the questionable safety of opening a gym for the duration of the time that our nation's offices are closed. In short, this stuff matters to us gym owners.
- The Best Business Book I’ve Ever Read - If I told you that Bill Gates and Warren Buffet agree on the "best business book of all time," and that you've never heard of it, you'd be interested...right? There's apparently a hard to find book written in 1966 that we should
all be aware of.
Make sure to let me know if you come across any material that you think I'd enjoy. More importantly, have a great weekend.
- Pete
