Thanks for opening up this edition of the Friday Four. Let's get things started with a podcast I was a guest on in recent weeks:
- How to Become a Sought-After Expert (podcast) - In this episode of Fitness Career Mastery, I discussed the realities of identifying and capturing a unique niche. I also went into some depth on how I think about and approach content creation for social media.
My Friday FOUR:
Four pieces of content I've consumed this past week that will influence my future blog material and challenge me to think differently about how I manage Cressey Sports Performance. As always, I'm looking to bring you some business-specific information from outside of the world of fitness. Enjoy:
- Obviously Awesome, Market Strategy, & Positioning (podcast) - I'm particularly interested in brand positioning
strategies as of late, so this podcast episode did not disappoint. If you enjoy April Dunford's message here, you'd love her book titled "Obviously Awesome.'
- Certainty, Accuracy and Leadership - "Because I've done this before" is a whole lot less inspiring than "because that's what the numbers reflect." This quick post from Seth Godin encourages us to stop leaning on misguided or out-of-date instinct when the data is available for
consumption.
- How Interruptions Can Make Meetings More Inclusive - I'm all for any approach to a meeting strategy that will allow for the people who are often marginalized or silenced to play a role in conversation. This HBR article explains why interruptions can be productive, and
how one can tactfully interject in a conversation to make this impact.
Make sure to let me know if you come across any material that you think I'd enjoy. More importantly, have a great weekend.
- Pete
