Four pieces of content I've consumed this past week that will influence my future blog material and challenge me to think differently about how I manage Cressey Sports Performance. As always, I'm looking to bring you some business-specific information from outside of the world of fitness. Enjoy:
- How to Become an Influencer in Your Industry - While I strongly dislike the title of this article, I am a big fan of the messaging contained in it. If it were my own post, I'd have called it "How to Scale the Influence of My Online Messaging Strategy." Even if you hate the term "influencer," you
should be serious about managing your online reputation.
- The Best Way To Answer “What Is Your Biggest Weakness?” - With roughly 50 summer internship applications currently ominously populating my inbox, I've got interviewing habits on the brain. This FastCompany article will make you think
strategically about both how you ask this common question if you're on the hiring side of the table, and how you answer it if the roles are flipped.
- Your Body Language May Shape Who You Are - The most common feedback I deliver to new coaches in our space relates to body language. Where they put their hands...how clients see them when they cross their arms...attempts (or lack thereof) to project
confidence...it all matters. This TED Talk is one John O'Neil (our Director of Performance) had us review as a team this week, prompting discussion of how we carry ourselves in front of clients.
- This Two-Minute Morning Practice Will Make Your Day Better - This was a good post touching on the importance of maintaining a positive mindset. It had me thinking about a quote Naval dropped into one of his many epic tweet storms: "Don't
partner with cynics and pessimists. Their beliefs are self-fulfilling."
Make sure to let me know if you come across any material that you think I'd enjoy. More importantly, have a great weekend.
