Four pieces of content I've consumed this past week that will influence my future blog material and challenge me to think differently about how I manage Cressey Sports Performance. As always, I'm looking to bring you some business-specific information from outside of the world of fitness. Enjoy:
- 17 Tips For Great Copywriting - Just about everything published on MarketingExamples.com is fantastic. I'd strongly suggest starting with this article and then signing up for their newsletter if you're interested in cleaning up your copywriting and marketing habits.
- Quit Overthinking Things - I've got a bad habit of sharing useful advice to fellow gym owners that I fail to execute in my own operation. Most of the time this is because hard work is hard, and I need to take my own medicine. I
occasionally employ the distant self-talk concept mentioned in this HBR podcast when I need a kick in the pants.
- Leaders, Managing Your Own Stress is How Everyone Stays Productive - I was psyched to see one of my favorite daily stress-breaking habits featured in this FastCompany article. Every day (work days), as I outline my to-do list in 15-minute
increments, and plug one such slot into the middle of the afternoon specifically for reading. I close my door, sit down with a book on a chair that isn't at my desk, and set my phone timer for 15-minutes. Try it yourself.
Make sure to let me know if you come across any material that you think I'd enjoy. More importantly, have a great weekend.
